Splash!

Contemplating creating a blog was like pacing around a swimming pool deciding when to enter the water. You want your entrance to be worthy...to be memorable...to be an appropriate introduction for your readers/viewers. There is the casual slinking into the water via the steps. Anyone who knows me or has even met me knows that slinking is a word reserved for supemodels and is rarely if ever associated with me. Option two offers the entrance via the board. This seems like such a life-altering jump that the high-dive seems the best metaphor. Sadly, this writer/photographer has never...ever...been compared to an Olympic swimmer and could not be physically forced by encouragement or weaponry to go off the high-dive. So...faced with the onslaught of memories from the anniversary of my father's death, I just ran as fast as I could and jumped in...SPLASH!  Supportive friends have been urging me to present my writings and photographs for a very long time. They win. Hopefully no one loses. The water feels just fine thus far. No icy feedback or choking on chlorine. Water can be very calming. It can be fun. I hope that my jump into this particular pool provides moments of both.
